Tracks

Posted: 03 Apr 2009 06:11 PM PDT

Three hicks were out hunting and came across a set of tracks.

The first hunter said, "Wow look at these tracks these look like tracks
from a huge bear."

The second hunter said, "You are crazy these are elk tracks."

Before the third hunter could say anything a train ran over them.....

A little renovation...

Posted: 03 Apr 2009 09:47 AM PDT

As you can see, the blog is kind of a mess today. I'm giving it a face lift but have to go do other things for the rest of the day.

If things are out of order or duplicate or otherwise in a state of confusion, sorry. I'll try to get the remodel completed over the next few days.

Meanwhile, I highly recommend that you check out one of both of the following blogs:

Fake Interviews with Real Celebrities
, especially these two recent posts:

Stuff White People Like
(Pam's disclaimer: Don't be offended by this blog. It's parody; kind of like Norwegians telling Sven and Ole jokes...)

Both of these blogs make me laugh so hard my face hurts, tears stream down my cheeks and I nearly pee my pants.

I'd like to share that experience with you.

Windows Window Dressing

Posted: 02 Apr 2009 02:08 PM PDT

My friend Andi has been sending me jokes and silly pictures. Most are posted in my Pam's Inbox blog, but this one had to go here.
It actually took me a minute to see what it's actually a picture of. Maybe that's because I spend so darn much time on the computer and I've gotten to the point where I tune out stuff. Once I "got it" I had a huge laugh.
The window dressing took some creativity.
I love it.

Countdown Clock

We're moving!

Posted: 01 Apr 2009 08:50 AM PDT

That got your attention, didn't it?

Don't panic, mom...
Happy April Fools' Day!

Ok, on a serious note, I wanted to announce that I'm going to be moving a lot of blog posts from my Pass It On Plates blog over to this one.

Why?
I'll re-post those older posts over here bit by bit so as not to dump an overwhelming amount of stuff into this blog.

In addition to all that, it's time this blog had a bit of a remodel, so I'll get the construction permits, hire a contractor, and start the demolition to make way for new cabinets, countertops, flooring, and...

...oh wait. It's the blog that's being remodeled, not the condo. Too bad for that.

Stay tuned to see the upgrades and changes over here!

Obsessions

Posted: 01 Apr 2009 08:18 AM PDT

A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young mothers and their small children. 'You all have obsessions,' he
observed.

To the first mother, Mary, he said, 'You are obsessed with eating. You've even named your daughter Candy.'

He turned to the second Mom, Ann: 'Your obsession is with money. Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny.'

He turned to the third Mom, Joyce: 'Your obsession is alcohol. This too shows itself in your child's name, Brandy.'

At this point, the fourth mother, Kathy, quietly got up, took her little boy by the hand and whispered, 'Come on, Dick, we're leaving. Your
brothers Peter and Willy are waiting for us.

[PamHawk.com] Countdown Clock

While building my school's website, I wanted to add a countdown clock for the reunion.

Did you know there are a LOT of free countdown clocks out there? I think I looked at about 20 before I found one I liked.

Many don't allow you to change the size of the clock, which was a problem for me, since it couldn't be wider than 150px. I also understand that free widgets like this usually come with a link back to the site that provided it. That's fine, but not if the link overshadows the countdown clock. That's just tacky.

I finally found one I like at: www.sofotex.com
It uses flash instead of java, looks cool, and the free one can be customized to a degree. You can pay for the clock and open up more customizable options, but for me the free one works nicely.

Here's what my clock looks like:

Here's a direct link for you to get one for your site:
http://www.sofotex.com/CountDown-Timer-in-Flash-for-Website-download_L96240.html
Click Download Now to customize and get the code.

I've added a link under Blog Bling in the sidebar so you can find it again when you need it.
